British Mensa has invited two siblings to join the high IQ society, which means these brothers have IQs in the top 2 percent of the population, Cambridge News reported. This also lends evidence to the theory that intelligence does indeed run in the family.
According to the news source, 15-year-old Thomas Frodsham and his 13-year-old brother Edward were urged by their teacher at Ely College to take a test to see if they were eligible for Mensa membership. As it turns out, the gifted students did place in the second percentile of the U.K.
"We are immensely proud of Thomas and Edward," Penny and Richard Frodsham, the brothers’ parents, told the news outlet. "Being accepted into Mensa is a fantastic achievement, and becoming members will help them develop their skills and interests."
Thomas and Edward are far from the only siblings to receive invitations to join Mensa. According to Naples Daily News, brother and sister James and LeAnne LeSage of Florida joined Mensa at the ages of 6 and 3, respectively.
If parents believe that one or more of their children may be gifted, they can always have them complete an IQ test for kids.
